EU Asylum Agency deploys to Moldova

Europe
The European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) has begun deploying a small contingent of personnel to Moldova, to support the country in the context of people fleeing the invasion of Ukraine.
This is the first-ever deployment of personnel by the EUAA (and its predecessor EASO) to a non-EU country.

Initially, the Agency is deploying six personnel to Chisinau to support with information provision workflows in the context of the EU transfer programme. They are supported by security personnel.

The deployments, including interpreters, could increase depending on the development of needs in the country. The EUAA is working in close contact with Member States, the European Commission, European External Action Service (EEAS), other EU agencies and international organisations, in order to ensure complete coordination by all actors in the country.
