The cornerstone of a 19 billion forint (EUR 53.7m) football stadium was laid in Nyíregyháza, in north-eastern Hungary, on Friday.
The facility, which will have capacity for 8,150 spectators, is scheduled to be completed by end-2023, state secretary Roland Juhász said at the ceremony. It will be based on the city’s old football stadium, which will be partly demolished. The construction will be financed from public funds, he said.
